I recommend a companion product be made and offered–a mounting strip, something to measure and install on the wall over which this molding could be attached. The biggest challenge for me in this install was determining want kind of mounting strip to use, how to attach it to the wall, and then how to best install the molding over it. I had to have a seam on one long wall, and despite my best efforts, the imperfections of the wall created a slight alignment issue between the two adjoining pieces of molding.

Comment on Lighting Cove LED Molding for Indirect Lighting by Josh P https://www.invitinghome.com/product/lighting-cove-molding-for-indirect-lighting/#comment-118742 Sat, 03 Apr 2021 00:34:34 +0000 https://www.invitinghome.com/?post_type=product&p=85931#comment-118742 This crown molding is…OK. Because it does not meet both walls, depending on how you install it for indirect lighting, it can be a challenge with which to work. This can be compounded by the inconsistency of the molding. Some of the lengths of molding I purchased were slightly twisted end to end. I’m not sure if that’s the result of the molding process or the manner in which it was shipped – the shipping looking solid to me. The cove curve also did not seem to be consistent between lengths. These things made cutting and mating ends difficult, especially the corners. Something else to consider is that these are very large pieces that are asymmetric because of the way they must be mounted. My 12″ double compound miter saw struggled to cut this cleanly. This is not the fault of the molding; however, the inconsistency of the molding certainly didn’t help with installation after cutting. Overall, it worked fine for me and ended up looking great; however, it required quite a bit of extra work to make it look good. I wish this commenting platform provided a means to show pictures of the molding and the installation, especially before and after the patching cleanup of the installed joints and corners.

Some suggestions if you buy this:
1) Buy some Dap Fast ‘N Final lightweight spackling. It’s not particularly easy to work with, either, but will allow you to clean up mismatching joints with a very flexible, relatively sandable compound. This stuff saved my installation.
2) Buy some 3M 3350 tape to back the lengths where you intend to lay indirect lighting. Although this tape is generally used for air conditioning ducts, it is reflective and will work well with indirect lighting.

One final note. I don’t believe that any of the negative impressions or experiences I had this molding in any way reflect on InvitingHome. I’ve purchased from them on multiple occasions and have only found them to be helpful and timely with their shipping. Other molding that I have ordered from them did not seem to have the same inconsistencies that this did, but, again, this molding is a little unique in how it installs.

I love how in the cover photo, the mirror takes the place of where a TV might traditionally be placed. Definitely a statement and makes the wall super aesthetically pleasing to look at.

Comment on Lighting up Imagination With Oil Lanterns by Alice Carroll https://www.invitinghome.com/lighting-up-imagination-with-oil-lanterns/#comment-73087 Fri, 14 Feb 2020 23:12:11 +0000 https://www.invitinghome.com/?p=62775#comment-73087 Seeing that picture of the lanterns hanging on the wall made me want to have one in my house as well. I totally agree with what you said that the classics never go out of style because the rustic accents of the lantern do radiate its own charm that would liven up a room. Maybe I can even use these candle lanterns for surprise romantic dinners with my husband.

The flower one with the gold detail would fit perfectly in my parents’ home. My mom loves everything flower, and has them everywhere in her home. I will have to show this to her and see what she thinks.

Is that possible for you to sell? I don’t see that shape offered of your website.
